Texchem plans 5 more Sushi King outlets
TEXCHEM Resources Bhd will add five more Sushi King outlets to its network of 41 eateries in Malaysia this year. Sushi Kin Sdn Bhd managing director Yasuhiro Nishida said capital investments of RM1 million per outlet are being earmarked by the company. Two stores will be in the Klang Valley, one in Klang and the other in Butterworth on mainland Penang. "We are also in talks currently to open the first Sushi King outlet in East Malaysia, in a new shopping mall to be built in downtown Kuching," he told reporters after the soft opening of the RM2 million fine-dining "Miraku" restaurant in Penang. Present was Texchem's chairman and chief executive officer Tan Sri Fumihiko Konishi. Miraku (which in Japanese means a great place for customers to enjoy great food) is situated on the first floor of the sea-fronting "G" Hotel at Gurney Drive. The outlet covers a floor space of 4,568 sq ft and can accommodate 130 diners. Sushi Kin was established in 1995 when the company introduced the "Kaiten Sushi" (where sushi dishes are selected from a conveyer belt) dining concept at its Sushi King outlets in Malaysia. A total of 3 million people have dined at Sushi King in Malaysia. Besides Penang and the Klang Valley, Sushi King restaurants are found in Genting Highlands, Ipoh, Johore, Malacca, Selangor and Seremban. quoted from nusiness times

"We are also in talks currently to open the first Sushi King outlet in East Malaysia, in a new shopping mall to be built in downtown Kuching," - this is probably referring to the Spring, maybe?
