Is this a duplicate post?
Anyway, I agree with Winter Rose, large billboards do not complement a city that well aesthetically. While it may show the rise in consumerism and a sense of a 'developed' and 'urban' city, like Piccadilly Circus in London or Times Square in New York, I don't see massive billboards in cities such as Boston or Paris. Besides, do we really need large shopping malls? Large shopping malls with too much neon lights that cannot sustain the numbers or oversaturates the existing market? Furthermore, it's Tune Hotels, nothing glamourous about that. Paris, London and Berlin have shopping boulevards and small malls (not including Harrods or Harvey Nicols) that are filled with good shops and are frequently patronised. I see nothing wrong with a rue St Honore in Kuching, which I prefer, over the 'world's largest emporium' which really doesn't bring the tourist dollar in. Though I must agree with Siamese that our major projects aren't even advertised with info or renders online.
